London

Oh London. I've heard so much about you from books, songs, people.. Never would have put you down as bright, almost cheery..

But that was how I found it when I first arrived on Saturday. After a gloomy morning with drizzles, the weather cleared up after I checked in. Sun was out from behind the clouds. People milling about with their shades on. I decided to talk a short walk down to Tower Bridge.

As you can probably tell from the many different angles I have of the bridge that I was captivated. I've got more, but I shall spare you lot from all the other photos for now. The different shades of blue, its details..it was a nice departure from the many bridges I've saw during the last 3 weeks of my travel in Italy, Sheffield and Cambridge.

I then wandered down along River Thames towards London Bridge. No it wasn't falling.

The view from London Bridge. I went back down again and this time past Tower Bridge towards Design Museum and the wharf via Shad Thames. These connecting bridges reminded me so much of the moving staircases in Hogwarts.

Here's the Design Museum Tank. Currently on display is the Dominic Wilcox Tank.

Dominic Wilcox’s driverless glass car prototype was created as a vision of the future of transport for the ‘Dezeen and Mini Frontiers’ London Design Festival exhibition. With only a bed inside, the passenger can sleep while the car takes them to their destination.

The car combines the handmade process of glass work with modern and future technologies to create a proposal of how transport could be in the middle of the 21st century.

It was a nice way to end my first day of solo trip. I think we'll get on just well London.
